AutoCAD 2022 for Mac and AutoCAD 2022 LT for Mac are now available from Autodesk, enabling new ways to improve on working through a connected design experience, the company says.

Among the new features and enhancements, users can stay connected to the block content anytime, anywhere with the enhanced Block palette and Block libraries. There are customized shortcut keys and Recent inputs to easily repeat commands.

A subscription to AutoCAD 2022 for Mac or AutoCAD LT 2022 for Mac includes access to the AutoCAD web and mobile apps, so users can work in AutoCAD whether you are designing at the jobsite, at your office or from your backyard.

The web and mobile apps enables changes in real time, and ability to share DWG files and mark up CAD drawings on the go. With the AutoCAD web app, you can now upload drawing templates, plot styles, and other support files to create DWG files that better meet your company’s drafting standards.

Following are some of the new features available in AutoCAD 2022 for Mac and AutoCAD LT 2022 for Mac.

Flexibility With Enhanced Block Libraries

New enhancements to Block libraries let users display recently used blocks in the Block library tab for convenient and faster access. Now users can specify a folder, drawing file or any block definition stored in a drawing to insert as a block in the current drawing. If using a cloud storage file or folder, it's possible to share block libraries across devices. Block libraries stored in the cloud are indicated on the Blocks palette.

Sort and Manage Blocks With Improvements

Further improvements have been made to the Blocks palette. It can display the blocks as a list, which can be sorted by name and type. Users also can gain easy access to insert a drawing as a block from any tab on the Blocks palette. There is also a new option to rename the block definition while inserting a block—even if a different block definition already exists.

Export Layouts Directly to a new DWG File

Simplify the workflow with Export layout, which saves all visible objects from the current layout to the model space of a new drawing. Objects that are outside the boundaries of “paper” in the layout are also exported. The new command EXPORTLAYOUT creates a visual representation of the current layout in the model space of a new drawing.

Customize Shortcut Keys

With customized shortcut keys, users can edit, add and remove shortcut key assignments on the new Shortcuts tab in the Customize dialog.

Quickly Repeat Commands With Recent Input

Repeat commands or command input using Recent Input. If there is no command active, the Recent Input menu contains the recent commands. If a command is active, the menu contains recent coordinates. Use the command, INPUTHISTORYMODE, to control the content and location of the user input history.

Connect to Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs

With the AutoCAD web and mobile apps, access files in the cloud. This year, Autodesk added Autodesk Drive and Autodesk Docs connections to the AutoCAD web app. Conveniently connect to your files within the Autodesk ecosystem.
