Autodesk has released AutoCAD WS version 1.5. Users can download the updated mobile application on the App Store or from Google Play. The Web version of the app will be automatically updated when users log into www.autocadws.com.

With the new release, the company has added the Design Feed to both the mobile and the Web app. The Design Feed gives users an in-drawing, interactive feed that enables context-specific posts and responses to turn drawings into "living documents," according to the company.

Using the Design Feed, users can attach a post to a specific point or area in a drawing to draw attention to a feature of the design and encourage discussion.

Users can target specific colleagues or friends with a post by tagging their e-mail address. The people that are tagged will receive an automated e-mail letting them know that the drawing has been shared with them and that a post has been created that requires their attention.

The new release also allows users to add photos to their drawings. Users can attach an image to posts to provide clarity or to help brainstorm ideas, the company says. The photo can be placed anywhere in the drawing, and resized like any other object.
