Avatech Solutions has announced the winners of its Render Us Speechless contest.

The company selected 45 finalists from hundreds of entries submitted by designers who use Autodesk 2D and 3D design, engineering, and entertainment software. During Autodesk University, these 45 finalists were showcased in a video and industry peers cast their votes for their favorite rendering.

The four submissions in each category that received the most votes at Autodesk University were then given to a panel of Avatech experts who made the final winning selections. First place winners in each category are:

* Architecture: Ryan Tow, Yung Design Group
* Civil: Randy Burton, Parsons Brinckerhoff
* Manufacturing: Thomas Balaguer, Academy of Art University
* Wild Card: Jogi Nomura, Raytrace Studio

More than $5,000 dollars in prizes was awarded to designers with the most photorealistic renderings. A first place, second place, and third place prize were awarded in each of the three categories: Architecture/Building, Civil/Mapping/GIS, Manufacturing/Mechanical, and Design. A Wild Card award was given to one designer. Photorealism, degree of difficulty, aesthetics, and technical skill were the primary judging criteria.

Our expectations for quality submissions are high, but each year we are delighted to review stunning submissions that consistently raise the bar, says Larry Rychlak, president & CFO, Avatech Solutions. The number and quality of entries reflects the advanced state of visualization software and the increased use of design visualization by firms wanting to win more business, faster.

Winning renderings in each category may be viewed here.
