AVEVA and Trimble announced that they are collaborating to provide an efficient integration between Trimble's 3D laser scanning solutions and AVEVA's laser scanning software solutions, including the LFM Software suite, for the plant, power and marine industries. The integration will enable customers to capture, import and integrate 3D laser scan data into their design workflows, the companies say.

"Working with Trimble supports the AVEVA strategy of delivering innovative software solutions to our customers which add value to laser data captured from all the leading hardware vendors," said Bruce Douglas, senior vice president, EDS strategy and marketing, AVEVA. "We are delighted to support the use of Trimble's 3D laser scanning solutions with AVEVA and LFM Software to enable the rapid creation of 3D models and management of laser scan data for our customers."

"Tightly integrating Trimble's portfolio of 3D laser scanning solutions with AVEVA and LFM's laser software portfolios can provide plant customers with an efficient workflow for maximizing the use of 3D data," said David Fitzpatrick, general manager at Trimble.
