CCE (Farmington Hills, MI) announced Oceans SDK, its latest software to connect Enterprise Applications to CAD data assets. CCE says Oceans SDK is a first-of-its-kind technology that provides access to product data stored in CAD files via a single C++ API for all major CAD formats.

Oceans SDK supports CATIA V4, CATIA V5, Unigraphics, SolidWorks, Solid Edge, Pro/ENGINEER, Autodesk Inventor, Parasolid, IGES, and STEP data formats. Oceans SDK does not require a license of the CAD system to access its data.

Oceans SDK provides seamless access to critical product data stored in CAD files. According to the recently published “Collaboration & Interoperability Market Report 2008” from Longview Advisors, use of 3D CAD data in downstream applications is increasing, with predictions of further increase as “it seems there is a continued slow migration to complete reliance on 3D CAD data in product design and engineering.”

CCE believes this is the democratization of 3D data in the enterprise, as Oceans is suited for products such as product data management (PDM) systems, product lifecycle management (PLM) systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, manufacturing resource planning (MRP) systems, Web-based catalogs, sales configuration systems, etc.
