CT CoreTechnologie (CT) announced its 3D Analyzer, a free 3D model viewer.

"We are enthusiastic about providing users the ability to read ISO standard formats including JT and STEP within our 3D Analyzer product," said company president Armin Bruning. "Clearly the free viewer is extremely popular, as we've already had over 1,000 downloads in the past two weeks, giving users the ability to read 3D data as well as PMI and GD&T."

The 3D Analyzer has additional functionality to read-in fully featured models without a CAD license. The add-on modules are Collision Detection, Wall Thickness Checker, Product Data Quality and Model Compare. The Model Compare tool has received positive reviews in the industry for its comparison of geometry, assembly and PMI, the company says.
