Delcam CRISPIN Launches New Version of Orthotics Software

Delcam CRISPIN’s software for the design and manufacture of orthotic insoles is now divided into two programs: OrthoModel for design and OrthoMill, for manufacture.

According to the company, dividing the software into two programs has increased the purchasing flexibility for customers. This way, both practitioners and laboratories can choose the software option that works best for them.

The combination of OrthoModel and OrthoMill provides a complete solution that requires no previous CAD/CAM experience for medical and footwear professionals

A new method for creating "foot-positive” models makes it possible for users to design patterns directly from scan data taken from the patient’s foot to create foot orthotics in numerous materials, including carbon fiber.

Users can use a new "cast-dressing” option to apply corrections directly on the scan of a patient’s foot when designing orthotics. This information is duplicated on the computer and adds or subtracts plaster as one would do with traditional methods. All the changes can be viewed as the scan and the orthotic can now be overlaid together.

Enhancements have been made to existing options, which include improvements to the functions for alignment of the scan for more precise measurement accuracy, dynamic editing with instant onscreen feedback, and an extended, enhanced library of base models, with the ability to add your own library of models.
