Dyndrite Accelerated Geometry Kernel Hits the Market

At NVIDIA GTC 2019, Dyndrite launched the Dyndrite Accelerated Geometry Kernel (AGK), a fully GPU-native geometry engine. This geometry-agnostic hybrid kernel is capable of interacting with multiple representations of geometry simultaneously, driving new design methodology and enhancing 3D printing technology, the company reports.
The Dyndrite kernel is a new engine built to use every clock cycle, flop and bit of memory that the modern GPUs have to offer. Applications built on the Dyndrite engine are deployable on Windows, Linux, on laptops, desktops, local servers or in the cloud.
An additional power feature, architected into the Dyndrite kernel, is the Python Interface. This interface opens the computation engine to a wide pool of users. Users can quickly prototype solutions to design and manufacturing problems, accelerate custom workflows, and iterate quickly, the company notes. For users who have been scripting in MATLAB / Python for the last decade, Dyndrite enables users to apply their knowledge to real-world applications, the company says.
“The Dyndrite Accelerated Geometry Engine is a great example of innovation enabled by using the latest NVIDIA GPU programming techniques and the RTX platform,” says Olimpio DeMarco, director, Strategic Alliances, NVIDIA.
Dyndrite acknowledges NVIDIA, 3D printer OEMs, engineers from its early customer sites, and advisors such as Carl Bass, former CEO of Autodesk.
Additionally, Dyndrite reports that Gradient Ventures, Google’s artificial intelligence fund, will lead its Series A. They join existing investors Amplify and the House.
