CM Labs releases Vortex Studio 2019c, the current update to this suite of real-time simulation visualization software. Check out the video here. The highlight of the update is support for Epic Games Unreal Engine for simulator development.

Vortex Studio users can now publish and connect simulations with the Unreal Engine, a popular choice for developing enterprise virtual reality environments for applications including virtual prototyping, driver-in-the-loop testing, operator training and simulation-based AI training.

The linking of Vortex Studio and Unreal Engine makes for an interoperable toolkit.

Vortex Studio 2019c users can also use high-fidelity vessel simulation capabilities of MARIN, software used to simulate seakeeping behavior. The connection makes it possible to combine validated vessel hydrodynamics from MARIN with multi-body mechanical and cable simulations from Vortex Studio. Applications that will benefit from this integration include offshore lifting, pile installation, towing, anchor handling, mooring, maneuvering as well as other complex operations at sea.

Vortex Studio 201c also includes a new Console Editor feature. This set of tools is used to build custom simulator interfaces, including interactive menus and custom control pages.

“Simulation involves multi-faceted workflows,” says Lisa Barbieri, CM Labs’ vice president of Marketing and Customer Experience. “With new ways for users to embed Vortex Studio into the tools they use every day, 2019c revolutionizes how powerful their simulation applications can be.”

Users with active Vortex Studio subscriptions can download the latest version.
