EOS (Krailling, Munich, Germany) and Advanced Laser Materials, LLC (ALM) (Temple,TX), announced a strategic partnership whereby EOS will act as a majority shareholder with 51 percent of ALM shares. The combined knowledge of both companies is expected further advance the development of plastic materials for rapid manufacturing via laser-sintering.
Recently, ALM introduced the new fire-retardant polyamide, FR-106, designed for use in the laser-sintering process which is very applicable to the aerospace industry, a key target market for EOS. EOS in turn will open up new markets for ALM in Europe, and hopes to gain new markets via the collaboration, particularly in the U.S.
