Forming Technologies Inc. (FTI; Oakville, ON, Canada), developer of solutions for design, simulation, and costing of sheet metal components, unveiled FASTFORM MultiStage, which uses a hybrid analysis approach (Finite Increment Technology — FIT) that combines the ability to quickly determine blank shapes with the detailed process analysis of incremental solvers.

The new technology runs 1 to 2 orders of magnitude faster than traditional incremental solvers on the market today, says the company.

FTI provides OEMs and suppliers in the automotive, aerospace, and appliance industries with software and training solutions to reduce development time and material costs. FTI has trained more than 12,000 engineers in Formability and Die Design and is considered the Best in Class around the world for their industry-training programs.
