Gibbs and Associates, developer of GibbsCAM software for programming CNC machine tools, will partner with Celeritive Technologies to incorporate VoluMill as an integrated option for GibbsCAM. This software collaboration will provide a seamless integration between GibbsCAM and VoluMill’s toolpath engine.

“One challenge of CNC machining is how to cut a part faster,” says Bill Gibbs, founder and president of Gibbs and Associates. “With a CNC machine being the major cost factor in a CNC shop, machine time is literally money. CAM software plays a key role in the production of part programs that can cut parts faster.”

VoluMill within GibbsCAM offers expanded milling solutions for cutting methods that maximize material removal rates by building toolpaths that optimally control tool cutting factors. The process automatically takes into account the best option for milling pockets, including the speed of a tool plunging into the material and material removal rates. Variation in tool load is smoothed, allowing the machine to use much higher speeds and feeds.
