Interactive Supercomputing Inc.’s (ISC) Star-P software lets scientists, analysts, and engineers create parallel applications using familiar desktop tools, automatically transforming the application to run on high performance computing (HPC) clusters. The Intel Cluster Ready program makes it easier to buy, deploy, and build HPC clusters employing Intel multi-core processors. An Intel Cluster Ready version of Star-P enables new users to tap into the power of HPCs without the cost and programming complexities associated with traditional cluster computing.

All certified products must meet the Intel Cluster Ready specification, which ensures system interoperability by providing a common basis for building certified clusters and developing registered applications. The program reduces the time, complexity, and risk in selecting a collection of independent components and software.

Star-P delivers interactive parallel computing power to desktop computer users, enabling faster prototyping and problem solving across a range of security, intelligence, manufacturing, energy, biomedical, financial, and scientific research applications. It allows them to code algorithms and models on their desktops using familiar mathematical tools—such as MATLAB and Python—and then run them instantly and interactively on HPCs with little-to-no modification. Star-P eliminates the need to re-program applications to run on parallel systems.
