Kontron Dual Core 3U CompactPCI Supports LynxOS-SE RTOS

Kontron (Eching, Germany/San Diego, CA), aprovider of commercial-off-the-shelf (COTS) and custom embedded-computingsolutions, and LynuxWorks Inc. (SanJosé, CA) announced support for LynuxWorks' LynxOS-SE 5.0 on Kontron's ITC-3203U CompactPCI CPU board, which is based on the Intel Core2 Duoprocessor.

Thecombination of the Kontron ITC-320 with LynxOS-SE 5.0 provides a securecomputing solution that is suited for 'medium robustness' securityapplications.

The KontronITC-320 series is a range of 3U CompactPCI CPU boards using a high-performanceand long-term available processing chipset from the Intel embedded architecture. The board with LynxOS-SE 5.0 is based on the 1.5GHz Intel Core2 Duo LVprocessor. With its high-performance PCI-Express port, which is backwardscompatible with PCI supporting software and configurable either as x4 or quadx1, the Kontron ITC-320 is equipped for data-intensiveapplications.

TheLynxOS-SE 5.0 BSP is designed to meet the most stringent requirements forsecure, real-time mission-critical applications and allows defense developers tobenefit from an out-of-the-box hardware/software solution that is optimized forthe harshest environments and provides a single solution for real-time systemswith zero downtime tolerance. The OS provides open APIs, Linux ABIcompatibility. LynxOS-SE 5.0 also offers increased RAM that enables developersto take full advantage of current hardware designs.
