Lenovo (Research Triangle Park, NC) announced the ThinkCentre A62, said to be one of the company's most cost effective and stable ThinkCentre PCs. The A62 is an environmentally friendly desktops, and comes with a remote management system and Express Repair, which allows the system to fix system corruptions.

The ThinkCentre A62 desktop offers 15 months' stability to the business community by deploying AMD's business class CPU. It also offers Dash 1.11, an optional, cost effective, and easy-to-use tool that allows the user to remotely manage, boot, audit, and update the system.

Lenovo ThinkVantage Technologies are described as a set of productivity and manageability tools that lowers the total cost of ownership, and frees up IT staff to focus on more critical IT issues. For example, Express Repair is a TVT component that can fix many system corruptions in less than three minutes without disturbing data or applications.

Environmental certifications, reduced energy costs, and — on select models — graphics performance is enhanced by ATI Hybrid CrossFireX4, along with optional support for DisplayPort5 and DirectX10 Onboard.

To complete the high-performance green-computing solution, the ThinkCentre A62 ($399) can be combined with the ThinkVision L197w, a low power EPEAT Gold certified monitor ($239) that provides a 19-in. screen.
