Mcor Introduces the Matrix 300 3D Printer

Mcor Technologies Ltd. has announced the Matrix 300 3D printer. The Matrix series of 3D printers converts 3D digital data into 3D models using A4 paper that the company says are up to 50 times less expensive than competitors’ technologies.

The Matrix 300 has a new design with an improved interface. In addition, the Matrix 300 allows a faster turnaround on part production.

The Matrix 300 is also sold with enhanced software, which simplifies the “weeding” process. Optimizing waste removal increases the turnaround on part production and involves no toxic materials.

The Matrix 300 produces smooth curves and parts. Parts can be printed in a single color or varied colored paper may be added to give a multicolored effect. Due to the inherent properties of paper rapid prototyping, the Matrix 300 can produce parts with variable stiffness that meet a range of form, fit, and feel requirements. 

Mcor’s Matrix 300 will be bundled with a six-month free subscription to CADspan Pro and CADspan free software. 

"CADspan provides MCOR users a simple way to successfully 3D print a wide variety of CAD content including models from Google Sketchup and Google Sketchup 3D Warehouse,” said Charles Overy of CADspan. 

The Matrix 300 3D printer will be available in January 2010 in Ireland and the UK. Distribution into Europe and the US will commence second and third quarter of 2010.
