Metris Outsources C3 CMM Manufacturing

Company's Italian CMM operations will become independent.

Metris (Leuven, Belgium) announced that itsItalian C3 CMM operations are to continue as an independent organization. Metriswill continue to source its aluminum-based C3 range of CMMs from its spin-offthat also becomes the exclusive reseller of Metris products forItaly.

AngeloMuscarella, sales director of Metris Italy (and former CEO of Coord3 S.r.l. (Bruzolo, Torino, Italy), is totake over the Bruzolo operations from Metris to create an independent CMMcompany. This new company includes both the development and manufacturing of C3CMMs and the Italian sales and customer service team.

Bart VanCoppenolle, President and CEO of Metris, ”At the same time it has no impact onour product portfolio, as Metris will continue to source its aluminum-based C3range from its spin-off. As such, we continue to sell aluminum-based C3 CMMsnext to the ceramic LK CMMs as part of our continued commitment to deliver totalCMM-based metrology solutions.”

This dealhas no impact on the MCA articulated arm operations in Villafranca, Italy, thecompany adds.
