NEC Display Solutions of America (Chicago, IL), a stand-alone provider of commercial LCD displays and projectors, announced the 26-in. MultiSync LCD2690W2-BK-SV and 30-in. LCD3090W-BK-SV widescreen displays with SpectraViewIIT color calibration sensor and software, as well as the new SpectraViewII Kit (SVII-PRO-KIT), which enhances select models of NEC displays.

The SpectraViewII Color Calibration Solution combines the two displays with a color measurement sensor and sophisticated software. The result is an accurate, reliable, repeatable, and feature-rich display calibration and profiling solution. The SpectraViewII system, available for Mac OS and Windows, uses a custom-calibrated, co-branded colorimeter based on the iOne Display 2 from X-Rite, to take color measurements of the display screen during calibration.

The software analyzes these measurements and sends color adjustment commands directly to the display monitor, allowing the full-color resolution and fidelity of the system to be maintained. The new sensor is custom-manufactured and matched for wide color gamut displays, like the recently introduced MultiSync LCD2690WUXi and LCD3090WQXi, in order to provide precise measurements using a colorimeter device. The sensor is also compatible with standard gamut LCD displays.

NEC Display Solutions of America also announced the new 26-in. MultiSync LCD2690WUXi, a desktop display suited for graphic arts, desktop publishing, photography, and other color-critical environments.

Derived from the LCD2690WUXi, the new display has a new, wider color gamut panel, delivering expanded blue coverage and improved brightness uniformity. The high-performing MultiSync LCD2690WUXi aids with productivity, as its wide-format design (16:10 aspect ratio) provides roughly the same work area as two smaller-sized displays, enabling users to work simultaneously in multiple application windows.

The MultiSync LCD2690WUXi is certified with Specifications for Web Offset Publications (SWOP) software, and ships with a four-year parts and labor warranty, including backlight, and is available now for shipping at $1,199.
