Corsair’s (Fremont, CA) latest addition to its Flash Survivor line of USB flash drives is a 64GB drive, and is being called the most rugged high-capacity flash drive on the market by the company. Corsair manufactures high-performance computer memory, power supplies and flash memory products, including solid-state drives.

Corsair Releases New 64GB Flash Survivor USB Drive

The Flash Survivor USB is housed in a CNC-milled, aircraft-grade aluminum casing for durability, which makes them practically indestructible. Each drive is also fitted with molded, shock-dampening collars on either end and an EPDM seal, which seals out gases, dust, dirt, and liquids when the drive is twisted home in its threaded one-piece aluminum case. The case, says Corsair, provides water-resistance to a depth of 200 meters.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) seals are typically applied in medical and aerospace equipment where gas absorption can interfere with normal equipment operation. EPDM seals are less absorbent than standard rubber seals.

According to Corsair, the Flash Survivor series of flash drives has been dropped, baked, boiled, encased in ice, and even run over by an SUV without experiencing damage or loss of data.

The 64GB Flash Survivor was designed for high-memory and high-performance applications in the field as well as rugged and hazardous manufacturing environments.
“The new 64GB Flash Survivor takes the industry’s most popular rugged USB drive and takes it to the next level, with a huge amount of storage space, plus best-in-class performance,” said Jim Carlton, VP of marketing for Corsair.

The 64GB Survivor’s ruggedness and high capacity also makes it ideal for use as a secure data backup device, in combination with backup products, such as Corsair’s Flash Voyager Port. Combining the 64GB Survivor with the Disaster Recovery feature of the NovaBACKUP software bundled with the Flash Voyager Port creates an effective backup solution.

Each Corsair 64GB Flash Survivor is bundled with a USB extension cable and dog tags, and is backed by a 10-year limited warranty and comprehensive customer support via telephone, email, forum, and the Tech Support Express helpdesk.
