Siemens PLM Software, a division of Siemens Industry Automation Division has released version 4.1 of Teamcenter Express software. Teamcenter Express is the collaborative product data management (cPDM) component of the Velocity Series portfolio.

The new release provides customer-requested enhancements such as a new administration tool that simplifies the process for configuring the cPDM environment. The new smart customization tool is called BMIDE (Business Modeler Integrated Development Environment) Express. BMIDE Express leverages Teamcenter BMIDE technology that was introduced in the unified architecture of Teamcenter 2007.

BMIDE Express provides channel partners, implementation consultants, and system administrators with a data model design and maintenance tool that enables the preconfigured environment delivered with Teamcenter Express to be easily modified to address diverse customer needs.  This new tool streamlines the management of the attributes, items, datasets, forms, statuses, lists-of-values, and tools that are the building blocks of the cPDM environment. The tool is delivered with an "Express Project" that defines the preconfigured cPDM environment delivered by Teamcenter Express and records any changes made to this environment to meet specific customer needs.

Teamcenter Express Version 4.1 delivers scalability to the unified architecture of Teamcenter 2007, the latest release of the widely-used PLM portfolio.
