Omega Engineering, Inc. (Stamford, CT) announcedthe OM-CONV-SER, an RS-485 half-duplex to RS-232 converter. It is powered fromthe computer's serial (COM) port so no external power is needed.

Thisinterface converter unit is small in size, has a long transmission distance, canhandle data rates up to 115,200bps, is stable in performance, and connects to astandard DB9 serial (COM) port. The converter is CE compliant and can be used ina wide range of applications including industrial automatic control andmeasuring systems and PLC applications.
