Optomec, a provider of industrial supplier of additive manufacturing systems for 3D-printed electronics, has partnered with Delcam.

According to a press release, the companies commenced development activities to enhance Delcam’s FeatureCAM software to support Optomec’s Aerosol Jet five-axis system for 3D printed electronics. This collaboration brings together Delcam’s industry leading additive manufacturing software expertise with Optomec’s industry leading 3D printed electronic technology to address next generation electronics manufacturing challenges.

The goal is to have Delcam create a software for additive five-axis toolpaths designed to drive Aerosol Jet systems to print sensors, antennas and other functional electronics.

“Through this collaboration, Delcam and Optomec have developed and are delivering world-class, production ready additive manufacturing solutions to meet next generation printed electronic product challenges” said Christian Briscoe, vice president, Western US Sales for Delcam.  “We are excited about the possibilities.”
