OTOY Inc. has expanded its product line with the release of OctaneRender 3, OctaneRender cloud services and an open source ORBX media file format for HTML5, VR and AR platforms. These products, according to the company, are created to provide users with the most versatile suite of rendering technologies possible.

OctaneRender supports Open Shader Language for GPU (graphics processing unit) rendering as well as OpenVDB for particle simulation. The new release adds volumetric rendering, advanced live texture baking, infinite mesh and polygon sizes as well as FBX and PTEX compatibility.

For user experience, OctaneRender 3 has a fully-configurable user interface, transform gizmos and dockable windows. New C plugins and portable support LLVM-based API (application programming interface) are also available.

The OctaneRender Cloud enables content creation and advanced rendering and distribution, OTOY states. Added capabilities include feature parity with OctaneRender, X.IO application integration, watermarking and pay wall authentication and Web browser-based creation. The company will be selecting users for a Beta release this spring.
