ProgeCAD announced the new release of progeCAD 2014 Professional, the company's AutoCAD alternative.

According to the company, the solution is a general-purpose DWG/DXF-native CAD based on the latest IntelliCAD technology. The present progeCAD edition includes a series of new features and tools, offers improved performance and stability, as well as a better usability thanks to an intuitive interface. The new software version ensures full integration with the latest Windows 8.1 operating system, and is also compatible with earlier Windows 7, XP, 8; and supports all AutoCAD DWG files from version 2.5 up to v.2014.

The update includes DWG to 3D PDF export. The EasyArch plug-in, the new version of the automated architectural tool intended to facilitate building and interior design, now works also in 3D. The new release has implemented the Hatch trim through the "Cut" command, which will allow users to create complex fill areas in a few steps.

Other features include tables viewing and editing, including those from AutoCAD; dynamic blocks editing; and 3D printing.
