Prusa Research published the names of the first customers of its industrial 3D printing solution, the Original Prusa Pro Automated Farm System. 

Automated Farm System (AFS) by Prusa Research is a complex industrial-level 3D printing solution. The scalable print farm offers print management tools and an automatic collection of finished prints. 

The prototype of the first production unit, consisting of eight 3D printers developed exclusively for the AFS, is on display at the Formnext exhibition in Frankfurt. Prusa Research also announced its price, which will start at $50,000 USD (VAT excl.). Training courses and maintenance plans are available, including on-site support and immediate printer replacement. The AFS also features Prusa Connect software for task planning and print management. 

Next year, the Original Prusa AFS will be shipped to its first customers, selected by Prusa Research. “The demand greatly exceeds our production capabilities, therefore, for the first phase, we have chosen companies that are geographically close to us and represent the application of 3D printing in various lines of business,” says Josef Prusa, CEO.

These first companies include MOTOISM (custom-made motorcycle parts, Germany), SCHLEIF-TEC(prototyping, Austria), the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (education, Germany), and Oratek (innovative technological solutions, Switzerland). “We really appreciate that we managed to establish cooperation with such an interesting group of partners that are really going to utilize the capabilities of the AFS to the fullest. We expect really close cooperation and collecting a lot of feedback enabling us to improve our solution even further," says Prusa.

During the Formnext exhibition (November 15-18, Frankfurt am Main, Germany), Prusa Research is debuting other new products. For example, the SL1S Medical, a printer designed for dental labs, or industrial, delta-technology 3D printers made by Trilab company, in which Prusa Research holds an 80% share. 

Prusa Research is also introducing new printing materials of the Prusament brand: flexible and bio-based 3D printing resins and also the Prusament Refill, an environmental-friendly option for refilling the existing 3D printing filament spools.
