Simerics announced the release of PumpLinx Version v3.2. PumpLinx is a CFD simulation tool with capabilities for virtual testing of fluid pumps, motors, compressors, valves, and systems with rotating and/or sliding components.

Starting with a 3-D CAD design, the solution enables engineers to create a virtual test article and generate flow visualization and engineering output similar in accuracy to a full scale hardware test at a fraction of the time and cost, the company says.

New capabilities include 1-DOF Fluid Structure Interaction, particle tracking, 3-D system modeling and templates for the following pump types:  axial & centrifugal; crescent, gerotor, external gear, piston, progressive cavity, scroll, and  vane.
