Quickparts’ Dr. Yu Dang has released a university textbook titled Applied Integer Programming: Modeling and Solution. Dr. Dang co-authored the book with Dr. Der-San Chen and Dr. Robert G. Batson, a current professor at the University of Alabama.

Taking an application-oriented approach, Applied Integer Programming addresses the art and science of mathematical modeling related to the mixed integer-programming framework. This book discusses the algorithms and associated practices that enable those models to be solved most efficiently. Organized into three parts, the reference is written to ease the learning hurdles in integer programming with suggestions and guidelines for practice on the job for professionals, software developers, and analysts who need to model and solve real-world optimization problems using integer-programming techniques.

Dr. Dang, a quantitative manufacturing analyst, earned her Master’s and Ph.D. in Management Science from the University of Alabama.
