Quickparts Offers New Black ABS-like Stereolithography Material for Rapid Prototyping

Quickparts has announced the availability of a new black ABS-like stereolithography (SLA) material for use in rapid prototyping and RTV/silicone master patterns.

“For our customers that need functional detailed SLA parts, Quickparts now offers a new black ABS-like material, RenShape 7820,” said Patrick Hunter, vice president of Sales and Marketing for Quickparts. “Adding ABS-like black to our SLA offerings gives the product development community a greater range of colors to choose from, plus we now offer these materials with a high gloss finish.”

RenShape SL 7820 is a black, low-viscosity stereolithography resin that was designed for use on solid-state SLA platforms. It offers a large working envelope of physical properties as well as high elongation and impact strength suitable for building concept models and functional prototype parts, according to the company.

The material’s low viscosity supports easy recoating during the build as well as good drainage for faster cleaning of parts.
