Coreform announces the latest release of Coreform Cubit.

Highlights of the release include enhancements to meshing, Python scripting, and neutronics workflows. This release does not include Coreform Cubit support for MacOS and CentOS. See highlights of the release below or visit our website to read more.

New Features in Coreform Cubit 2025.1

Meshing

  • Improved robustness while meshing with background Exodus sizing
  • Lower bound interval setting now respected when triangle meshing
  • New sizing option for tetmesh respect

Geometry

  • New command to create a frustum fit to a volume
  • Enhanced command to create a cylinder fit a volume
  • New options to specify an axis
  • Additional use cases supported with surface slot reductions
  • Export Patch Data command

Miscellaneous

  • Error detection when writing large .cub files
  • Corrections in ABAQUS file export for mixed meshes
  • Tab indented Python scripts now supported
  • New OpenMC lost particle visualization workflow 
  • New CubitInterface function get_nearby_entities
  • Stability improvements and bug fixes

End of Life for Mac and CentOS Support

Effective January 1, 2025, Coreform discontinued support for Coreform Cubit on MacOS and CentOS, and added support for Rocky 8. The company will continue to support Windows 10 and 11, OpenSuse, and Ubuntu 18, 20, and 22. Read more about this decision and how it will impact you on the Coreform forum
