Sartomer, a business line of Arkema, will introduce products from the N3xtDimension line of UV-curable engineered resins for 3D printing applications at Formnext 2018. These resins help additive manufacturers yield exceptional material’s tunability, high-definition and fulfill performance and regulatory requirements for a wide range of industrial applications.

Sartomer, as part of the new commercial platform dedicated to 3D printing, “3D Printing Solutions by Arkema,” designs liquid resin solutions for UV-curable additive manufacturing, marketed under the N3xtDimension brand.

"We are addressing the needs of demanding and innovative 3D printing markets by partnering with global leaders to deliver custom material solutions for end-use applications," says Sumeet Jain, global director for 3D Printing Business, Sartomer. "Through our range of products and services dedicated to additive manufacturing, we are supporting the 3D printing sector as it grows and continues to develop new applications.”

At Formnext, Sartomer Europe will launch the following new engineered resins that enable performance with overall properties:

  • Impact resistance: N3D I-2105 imparts impact resistance to 3D-printed materials. It enables the manufacturing of functional parts.
  • Flexibility:  N3D F-2115 achieves different flexibilities depending on the post-treatment applied. Its elongation at break and modulus are fine-tunable to reach the desired set of properties: elongation, tear resistance and Shore A hardness.
  • Prototyping:  N3D P-2125 exhibits a homogeneous network, enabling excellent processability and limited evolution of mechanical properties after post-curing.

Products featured at Formnext also include a selection of oligomer and monomer resins that address key market needs for end-use applications. As part of its commitment to 3D printing innovation, Sartomer opened its 3D Printing Center of Excellence dedicated to UV curing resins earlier this year, an advanced R&D lab where experts can develop cutting-edge 3D printing resins through advanced materials research.

3D Printing Solutions by Arkema brings a step change in additive manufacturing’s possibilities. Beyond offering an industry leading portfolio of materials, Arkema unlocks new applications by bringing full solutions and expertise, from the customer’s concept to the industrialization.
