PTC Buys CloudMilling CAM Solution

PTC acquired CloudMilling, a cloud-native computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) solution. The acquisition will bring CAM functionality to PTC's software-as-a-service Onshape product development platform, which offers CAD, product data management, real-time calibration and business analytics functions.

CloudMilling's features include 2- and 5-axis tool paths, a fully integrated tool library, real-time visualization capabilities and workspaces that can simultaneously handle multiple parts. The CAM functionality is expected to be available in Onshape in early 2023.

"CloudMilling has developed a solution that offers the high-quality cloud experience and benefits that our Onshape customers expect."
