Siemens PLM Software has announced new releases of four of its D-Cubed component software products. Version 40.0 of the 3D Dimensional Constraint Manager (3D DCM), the Assembly Engineering Manager (AEM), the Collision Detection Manager (CDM), and the Hidden Line Manager (HLM) contain new enhancements.
3D DCM, a software component that positions parts in assemblies, simulates their kinematic motion, and parametrically controls the configuration of 3D sketches and the shape of parts, includes the following enhancements:
CDM is a software component that detects collisions and computes clearances. New enhancements include:
AEM, a software component that provides a more realistic and productive assembly environment, also includes new enhancements:
HLM, a software component that computes hidden line views, includes an improved thread-safe version. It was made available as an option with version 39 to enable multiple instances of the HLM to run on parallel processors. However, each thread-safe instance of the HLM had slightly worse performance compared with the non-thread-safe version. In this release, the necessary changes have been made to eliminate this performance disadvantage, enabling the thread-safe version to be the standard version.
3D DCM, CDM and HLM are also thread-safe on a range of supported operating systems, including Unix, Linux, and Apple platforms.
