Sigmetrix announced the latest release of its GD&T Advisor software (v2.1) for PTC Creo design software. Developed in partnership with Alex Krulikowski at Effective Training, the software is an interactive tool that guides designers through a standards-based application of GD&T from within the CAD environment.
In addition to English, both the ISO GPS and ASME Y14.5M-1994 versions are now available in German, with all of the application's user interface as well as the embedded help content offered in that language. Separate annotations can now also be applied to the surface of features of size resulting in more accurate definitions, the company says. In addition, the update also provides improved pattern support, minimum or maximum tolerances, automatic creation of datum target annotations, and several other usability enhancements.
"The release of GD&T Advisor v2.1 is proof of our continued commitment to the demands of the global, mechanical engineering community," said Sigmetrix president and CEO Chris Wilkes. "By releasing the software in another language, we're further expanding our global reach while making it easier for designers in other countries to use the software. Our enhanced capabilities and functionality make it possible for users to have even greater control over an expanded range of features, enabling them to generate more robust designs."
