SIMULIA, the Dassault Systemes brand for simulation solutions, is gearing up for a road trip. Dubbed "Reveal the World," the 11-week-long tour (September 18-November 22) is designed to let you experience first-hand the SIMULIA simulation technology in immersive hardware and software.

The traveling SIMULIA team is led by Subham Sett, VP of marketing and strategic initiatives, SIMULIA. The team will travel in a high-tech truck equipped with AR-VR (augmented reality-virtual reality) gear, test systems, and drive simulator setups, among others.

"It's truly going to be a mobile experience," quipped Sett.

SIMULIA Tour Begins at a Modeling Event

The "Reveal the World" tour is timed to complement the Dassault Modeling and Simulation Event (Novi, Michigan, September 18-19).

Visitors to the truck's destinations can expect to be able to visualize a car crush in VR, among other things. The SIMULIA-powered Living Heart will also be available for viewing.

"Simulation has traditionally been confined to experts, but it is moving toward designers, as you can see with function-driven design in SOLIDWORKS and CATIA," said Sett. "We were brainstorming, to figure out a way to get the words out about it. That was the genesis of this road trip."

There will also be a small classroom for technical team to give presentations and demos. Sett believes the future of simulation is in a new world--the immersive AR-VR world.

"If you come to our conferences or office open-house days, you might have noticed that, but you'd have to come to us to experience that," said Sett. "We'd like to take these experiences to where the real users are--to the universities where they're studying, to the companies where they are working."

The trip details have already been published to the event home page here. The published tour stops are primarily universities and regional Dassault Systemes offices.

The current tour is only for the midwest region, but Sett said he's planning a spring tour for another regions.
