SME Hosts Manufacturing Certificate Program

By DE Editors

February 11, 2015

SME, in partnership with the Milwaukee School of Engineering and America Makes, has created an Additive Manufacturing Certificate Program. It includes a review course and a certification exam.

The course, according to SME, includes instruction on foundational manufacturing principles in addition to in-field observation. Upon completion of the exam, examinees will have a knowledge of sand casting, CAD, investment casting, direct tooling, surface finishes, master patterns, sheet metal manufacturing and more.

The locations for the 2015 course are Jacksonville, FL, and Long Beach, CA. The course will be held in April and May.

It is advised by the organization that interested persons take a pretest to determine course readiness. A list of recommended reference materials is also available.
