Another year has managed to sneak by, and along with the winter snow it’s time to prepare for another EuroMold. The world’s largest moldmaking and tooling conference also plays host to a healthy number of additive manufacturing (AM) companies, preparing to showcase new releases.

The first out of the gate this year, and with probably the largest offering, is Stratasys. According to the company, Stratasys will be releasing 11 new products at EuroMold 2014, including new materials and new AM systems.

“The global design and manufacturing market continues to push toward creating smarter products with greater efficiency. Because we believe in, and support this trend, we have announced today a range of solutions that focus on ‘democratizing design.’ Our customers, whatever their size or industry, can now access a wide spectrum of cutting-edge 3D printing capabilities and deliver competitive advantage,” said Gilad Yron, senior vice president, Product Management, Stratasys.

Stratasys will offer six additional PolyJet systems featuring the company’s triple-jetting technology, the process used by the Objet500 Connex3 launched earlier this year. Triple-jetting technology offers, “virtually unlimited combinations of rigid, flexible, and transparent color materials as well as color digital materials” in a single print run. The Objet260 Connex 1, 2, and 3 series has been designed to operate in an office setting, while the Object350 Connex 1,2, and 3 are meant for a more industrial setting.

Two new Fortus systems are on the way, offering Stratasys’ patented Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) technology. The Fortus 450mc and Fortus 380mc offer touch-screen control and are, according to the company, up to 20% faster at building complex geometries than similar AM systems. Each new system benefits from the improved speed, with the Fortus 450mc also offering a larger build envelope than the Fortus 380mc.

Stratasys is also rolling out a new desktop AM system with the Objet30 Prime. The system offers PolyJet technology on a smaller scale with options for 12 different materials, including rubber-like, rigid, high-temperature and bio-compatible materials. The Objet30 Prime will also feature a “draft mode” that opens up 36µ layer printing for faster prototype build times.

Another new system that will appear at EuroMold 2014 is the Objet Eden260VS. According to the company, the new 3D printer will offer 6µ resolution alongside soluble support. With its ability to rapidly print fine detail, Stratasys is aiming the Objet Eden260VS at service bureaus, as well as for dental and medical applications.
