Manufacturing strategists and CFOs are invited by Boothroyd Dewhurst, Inc. to a free Webinar titled “How to Resurrect U.S. Manufacturing with Systematic DFMA Deployment,” on May 7, 2009, 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. EDT.

Register here.

The 40-minute Webinar is presented by Mike Shipulski, Ph.D., director of engineering at Hypertherm, Inc., who implemented a DFMA program at his own company with good results, including a 600 percent improvement in profit-per-square-foot of factory floor space and market share gains.

Using a product design strategy like DFMA can bring significant downstream savings to all types of industries, such as part count reduction of 50 percent, labor time reduction of 60 percent, and cost savings of 50 percent, according to Shipulski. He will present metrics resulting from Hypertherm’s own five-year experience with DFMA deployment, and then demonstrate the steps needed to achieve similar results.

The discussion will cover goal setting, project selection and planning, resource allocation, project execution, and design review.
