The WEPAN National Conference is an annual forum for ideas and a venue for conversations among women in engineering. It allows leaders, corporate advocates, researchers, academic leaders, and government officers to:

  • Gain access to current research, statistics, and best practices on women in engineering.
  • Build corporate-campus networks with WIE professionals from across the country.
  • Recognize excellence by honoring key individuals, programs, and corporations for accomplishments aligned with WEPAN’s mission.

At its 2009 National Conference, 200 WEPAN conference participants will: celebrate WEPAN’s 20th birthday and honor its history. The conference will mark the grand opening of the new WEPAN Knowledge Center. Joint sessions with American Society for Engineering Education Women in Engineering Division and the Texas Girls Collaborative Project will be held at the WEPAN Conference.

The 2009 Conference theme “Center Stage: Effective Strategies for Recruitment and Talent Development” brings together leaders from across the country to share best practices and research that will help transform engineering education to promote the success of all women. WEPAN program is aimed at setting the stage for recruiting and developing the talent of a diverse pool of engineers.
