A 500-watt integrated fiber laser and a square build plate to enable dental technology companies to print more removable partial dentures than was possible on a comparable round build plate, company says.

A team of designers from Australia’s Monash University and a spin-off company called AMAERO have successfully demonstrated such a 3D-printed rocket engine.

Sintavia is already expanding its facilities to handle the increasing customer workload, with goals of adding 35 more AM systems plus larger furnaces and HIP equipment by 2020.

The 3D printing hype has given way to real solutions for additive manufacturing via robotic, material and software innovations.

The machine is suited for medical and material testing applications.
