Epic Games, the company behind Unreal game engine, announced it's hosting Unreal Fest Online, a free virtual gathering with over 50 sessions, on July 14. Sessions are prerecorded, but include live Q&A with speakers.

Sessions will be posted to Unreal Engine's YouTube channel for on-demand viewing, the company says.

Content is divided into industry-specific tracks for:

  • Architecture
  • Automotive
  • Games
  • Film, TV, Live Events
  • Cross-Industry

Talks for automotive include:

  • visual fidelity with ray tracing (Epic Games);
  • a deep dive into the key components of a product configurator (Audi);
  • exploring the Ford Mustang Mach-E: the real-time future of Automotive Visualization (Burrows);
  • a fully immersive driving simulator for autonomous vehicles (Warwick Mfg Group).

This is the first international Unreal Fest. Epic Games has previously held Unreal Fest events in Europe. Unreal Fest Europe 2019 drew 2,000 in-person attendees, according to Epic Games press office.

Unreal and its rival Unity play a critical role in converting CAD content into AR/VR-ready formats for immersive experiences.
