Massivit 3D Printing Technologies Ltd. will showcase the industrial-grade Massivit 5000 3D printer at the upcoming RAPID + TCT show in Detroit, MI, May 17-19. Visitors to Massivit 3D’s booth #3613 can see live demonstrations of the Massivit 5000. A range of large, printed parts, molds and prototypes will also be on display.

The Massivit 5000 large-scale 3D printer is designed to expedite lead times for manufacturers across the rail, marine, automotive, defense, architecture, scenic fabrication and education sectors. It offers a build volume of 57x44x70-in. (145x111x180 cm) and enables manufacturers to produce full-scale parts within hours.

The Massivit 5000 leverages Massivit 3D’s Gel Dispensing Printing (GDP) technology. GDP uses the company’s advanced photo polymer printing gel, Dimengel, that cures on-the-fly under UV light. This enables high-speed production of large, complex parts with little-to-no required support structures.

The 5000 offers integrated slicing software for automated file preparation and features designed to increase workflow efficiencies. Its dual-head printing mechanism allows two independent parts to be printed simultaneously, with the capability to use a different material on each head. The Massivit 5000 offers a range of print resolutions and modes including Variable Resolution mode.

It also supports a wide range of purpose-specific printing materials. One of the most recently launched materials, Dim 20-FR, is a UL94-V0 compliant 3D printing thermoset gel, offering flame retardance.

At the show, the company will also share news of the Massivit 10000 additive tooling system for composite materials, recently launched at the JEC World 2022 composite materials event in Paris. Massivit 3D designed this additive manufacturing system to overcome recognized bottlenecks in composite materials manufacturing. Based on the company’s new Cast In Motion technology, the system enables direct printing of complex molds using high-performance casting materials.
