Onshape, a cloud product development platform, and Sandvik, a developer of applied manufacturing technologies, have forged a strategic partnership designed to simplify the way component manufacturers go from 3D CAD models to finished parts. The partnership integrates Onshape's advanced cloud CAD tools with Sandvik's reimagined take on CNC machine programming.
Sandvik's Prism CNC application enables component manufacturers to move from part design to part programming in the cloud—without manually moving or exporting CAD files between systems and formats. With a click of a button, Onshape users can connect the two solutions to start moving their 3D designs into Prism CNC for programming and G-code generation.
"Onshape is committed to not only provide best-in-class product development tools, but also is devoted to improving our customers' design and manufacturing processes," says David Katzman, Onshape VP of Sales and Customer Success.
"Prism CNC marks the beginning of the end of checking out CAD files manually before you go into production planning," he adds. The integration is live now and is available to all customers of Prism CNC and Onshape.
