Autonomy, connectivity and electrification are causing a signifciant amount of disruption in the automotive industry. The use of sensors and wireless communication will be critical for the success of these new mobility applications, but that will require different approaches when it comes to automotive design.

At the upcoming CAASE21 Online Conference, keynote speakers Professor Steve Kan and Professor Duminda Wijesekera of George Mason University will discuss the reliabilities of key technology in sensing and vehicle ADS and 5G connectivity, as well as its integration into future transportation systems.

In this episode of the DE24/7 Podcast, we spoke with Kan and Wijesekera about the presentation, and about how simulation tools are evolving to help engineers better predict the safety and reliability of these systems.

Kan is the Director, Center for Collision Safety and Analysis (CCSA), at George Mason University. Wijesekera is Acting chair, Cyber Security Engineering Department, at George Mason University.

You can register for the keynote presentation here, and learn more about the CAASE21 conference here.
