csimsoft has released Cubit 13.2, the latest version of the Cubit pre-processor for generating tetrahedral and hexahedral meshes for the CFD and FEA communities.

The new version includes improved meshing and geometry features, a new 64-bit tet mesher, and improved third-party format support.

"The new features in 13.2 demonstrate our responsiveness to our customers' needs," said Paul Ressler, director of sales and marketing. "It represents our on-going commitment to provide superior meshing tools to the worldwide community of engineering professions."

The new remesh tet command can replace deformed or poor quality tetrahedra after an analysis where some portion of the mesh is deformed. Although introduced in a previous release, version 13.2 provides the new capability to locally remesh curve and surface features within the remesh region. Several new options have also been added to automatically identify poor quality elements based upon cubit's mesh quality metrics.

The 64-bit tet mesher allows for significantly larger meshes than Cubit's previous tet mesher. The new defeaturing power tool reduces the defeaturing of solid models to a single button click or command.

For users who have access to the Sierra stk_adapt module, Cubit 13.2 supports parallel refinement. Parallel mesh refinement allows refinement to go beyond the memory limits of a single processor. The resulting mesh size is only limited by the number of processors users have available to perform the refinement.
