ANSYS, General Electric Enter Collaboration Agreement

Both companies, according to a press release, will work together on a variety of applications to create analysis techniques. One of the agreement's first project includes generating new engineering practices associated with accurate analysis of some of GE's main industrial projects. These projects may include simulating system -level product performance, with live data to predict overall system efficiency.

GE currently uses ANSYS simulation technology to create products such as aircraft engines to MRI scanners.

"We have employed the power of ANSYS simulation for over two decades to confidently design and analyze our products and quickly bring them to market," said Christopher Lorence, general manager of engineering technologies at GE Aviation. "This new strategic agreement will allow us to work more closely with ANSYS and push the boundaries of engineering even further."
