Engineering optimization software provider, ESTECO, has announced its strategic partnership with Optimad, a numerical solutions provider in scientific computing. This venture will bring advanced machine learning and explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) capabilities into ESTECO digital engineering software solutions.

ESTECO has been providing technology for multidisciplinary optimization and simulation process and data management. Their software tools have enabled organizations to streamline product design and development processes, improving efficiency, according to the company.

Optimad is focused on XAI (eXplainable AI) development, specializing in reduced order modeling methods that enable engineers to understand and interpret predictions made by machine learning models, the company notes. Its expertise in building AI systems applied to numerical simulation aligns with ESTECO’s commitment to delivering digital engineering technology, both companies report.

Through this partnership, ESTECO and Optimad will collaborate to embed advanced explainable AI capabilities into modeFRONTIER and VOLTA, providing users with:

  • Data-driven design approach: ML technologies enable organizations to combine the simulation-driven design paradigm with a data-driven approach. This results in improved exploitation of data, enhanced ROI and cost and time savings, according to the companies.
  • Improved decision-making: The integration of XAI technology will empower engineers and scientists to make better-informed decisions.
  • Optimad expertise: ESTECO customer base will benefit from the numerical ingenuity and knowledge of ROM, ML and AI methods of the Optimad team.
