Some popular robots on the market are fully charged to get you hyped up for the holidays, overflowing with Christmas and seasonal cheer. A research team from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Czech Technical University (CTU) in Prague posted a video on YouTube, where robots offer a “Merry Christmas!” greeting.
They rounded up some of the more familiar machines of the 2020s to star in the production. For example, two of the stars are Spot machines developed by Boston Dynamics.
The yellow robot dog first appeared in the “Spot Me Up” video, offering its interpretation of the Rolling Stones “Start Me Up” song. It also danced alongside the famous boy band BTS back in June and wished everyone a “Happy New Year!” in 2020 with a choreography on the “Do You Love Me?” hit from The Contours.
Back to CTU’s new video, the Spot robots are joined by other machines, such as the balancing robot SK80, developed in-house by graduate students at CTU, which can balance on its two legs with wheels and move around autonomously.
The Ludvik LEGO humanoid robot also appears in the video. It was built of more than 30,000 LEGO pieces, also by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, and is able to play Beethoven’s compositions on the electric keyboard.
