ASSESS Initiative is releasing its lineup of speakers for its upcoming fall congress. The ASSESS 2019 Congress will be held October 27-29, 2019 at the Chateau Elan Winery & Resort in Braselton, GA. The theme of the ASSESS 2019 Congress is “Advancing the Simulation Revolution”.  Attendance at the ASSESS 2019 Congress is limited to 110 attendees.

ASSESS Initiative

  • Joe Walsh, CEO/co-founder, ASSESS Initiative CEO/founder, intrinsim LLC

Joe Walsh founded intrinSIM in late 2009 with the intention of enabling rapid next generation application development for engineering software and co-founded the ASSESS Initiative in mid-2016 to significantly increase the usage and benefit of engineering simulation. Walsh brings nearly 40 years of experience, expertise, relationships and collaborations in the CAE, CAD, interoperability and component software industries.

  • Walt Witkowski, senior manager of the Computational Simulation Group, Sandia National Laboratories Albuquerque

Presentation title: Significant Advances in Computational Simulation Workflow for National Security Applications

Dr. Walt Witkowski is currently the senior manager of the Computational Simulation Group in the Engineering Science Directorate at Sandia National Laboratories. He has been with the labs for over 29 years working in the general area of engineering sciences. Specifically, he has technical experience in verification, validation, model identification, credibility processes, numerical optimization, uncertainty quantification, parameter estimation of complex extreme computational engineering problems and artificial muscles. 

  • Ralf Hartmann, VP, Digital Product Continuity, Airbus Defense & Space

Presentation title:  Multidisciplinary Integration Towards the Digital Twin

Ralf Hartmann is currently vice president and technical advisor “Digital Design, Manufacturing and Service” (DDMS) within the Digital Transformation Office (DTO) at Airbus Defense & Space. The DDMS responsibility is to ensure the full multidisciplinary digital integration of all domains along the full lifecycle. This includes the reengineering of all processes and data models, the harmonization of all relevant authoring and backbone applications and the associated transformation and change management. 

Hartmann joined the DTO office in July 2017 after having worked in Space Systems for 30 years in the area of robotics, automatic control, simulation, S/W development and primarily Systems Engineering.

  • Andreas Vlahinos, CTO, Advanced Engineering Solutions

Presentation title: “Are the Real Time Simulation and Lattice Structure Generation Tools a Game Changer?”

Dr. Andreas Vlahinos is a CTO of Advanced Engineering Solutions. He has concentrated on rapid new product development. He has been instrumental in rapid product development through the implementation of Design For Six Sigma (DFSS) and Computer Aided Concurrent Engineering for several Government agencies such as NASA, NREL, SANDIA, DOE and US Army Aviation & Missile Command and industry partners such as IBM, Coors, Lockheed Martin, Alcoa, Allison Engine Comp., Solar Turbines, Ball, Futech, American Standard, Kohler, Varian, Stewart & Stevenson, Harris Corp., GENERAL DYNAMICS, TDM, PTC, MDI, Ford Motor Company, Rockwell Collins, BIC, BAE, XEROX, United Launch Alliance, SpaceX, Woodward Inc., Gichner Shelter Systems, NAVISTAR Defense, Flyer Defense, Viper Inc., Lincoln Composites, Advanced Composite Products & Technology, Inc., TetraPak, TOYOTA, as well as several others.
