At the Oct. 26 virtual Design & Simulation Summit, attendees can learn from TRAK Machine Tools how the company was able to deploy digital twin technology to improve manufacturing operations. Tom Copeland, vice president of operations and chief technology officer (CTO) at TRAK will present a case study explaining how small and medium-sized businesses can deploy and leverage the benefits of digital twins.

The Design & Simulation Summit, presented by Digital Engineering, kicks off at 1 pm Eastern on Oct. 26 with a keynote panel titled What Can AI Bring to Design for Additive Manufacturing? Following the keynote, attendees can select from four additional presentations on Design, Simulation, Digital Thread, and Engineering Workstations presented by leading end users, analysts and consultants.

According to the description for the session, titled Digital Twins for Small and Medium-Sized Companies:

The acceptance of Digital Twin technology has increased over the past few years in manufacturing, and also among small and medium-size companies. The reason for that is that Digital Twins offer manufacturers the possibility of reducing operating expenditures, using data and information more effectively, making better and quicker decisions, and speeding up production. In this presentation Tom Copeland will highlight how Trak Machine Tools implements and manages Digital Twin projects workflows.

Attendees will learn how to use Digital Twins to get their teams on the same page; how to manage Digital Twin projects; how to manage remote resources that will use Digital Twins; and how to quantify the value of implementing the technology.
